INDYCAR odds Laguna Seca point to Alex Palou as the driver to beat in Sunday’s Mission Foods Grand Prix of Monterey, the 2026 season finale at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. The race is scheduled for Sept. 6 at 2:30 p.m. ET on FOX.
Palou has already secured his fifth career INDYCAR title and his fourth in a row, clinched at Milwaukee. With the championship decided, the finale offers a chance to cap a dominant season that featured eight poles, six victories and 673 laps led, according to oddsmakers and series results.

Palou returns to a venue where he prevailed in July 2025, finishing ahead of Christian Lundgaard and Colton Herta. With the 2026 championship already locked, the Chip Ganassi Racing driver can pursue a statement win at Laguna Seca to close out his season.
One to watch
Pato O’Ward arrives with momentum after sweeping both races at Milwaukee. Those results provided a late-season lift following a challenging year that had previously produced only one other win, at Mid-Ohio.
