Kylian Mbappé signs with On, bringing an end to his long association with Nike and aligning the Real Madrid forward with the Swiss sportswear company.
Mbappé, who had been backed by Nike since his youth, will work with On to develop and test the brand’s football boots and apparel. The company also said French great Thierry Henry will serve as Director of Football after collaborating with On since late 2025.
“From the beginning, what drew me to On was the opportunity to build something entirely new together that will help shape tomorrow’s game,” Mbappé said in a statement. “I want to bring my experience and perspective into what we create, push what’s possible through innovation, and always stay true to the joy of football. We have a shared dream, and this is only the beginning.”
Mbappé joins a recent group of athletes who have moved on from Nike, including Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard, tennis player Emma Raducanu, and Barcelona and Spain talent Lamine Yamal.

Founded in 2010 with a focus on running shoes, On gained broader visibility when tennis legend Roger Federer became a co-owner in 2019. Its athlete roster features U.S. Open finalist Ben Shelton and six-time Grand Slam champion Iga Świątek, as well as João Fonseca, Flavio Cobolli, Hellen Obiri, Dominic Lobalu, Geordie Beamish, and Olli Hoare.
According to reporting, On plans to release its football cleats in 2027 as premium products. The company is expected to prioritize the women’s market ahead of next summer’s Women’s World Cup. Mbappé is anticipated to debut his new boots in the coming weeks.
