Karoline Leavitt will move to work for President Donald Trump’s super PAC, MAGA Inc., after departing her role as White House press secretary, she told reporters Friday.
Leavitt, 28, said aboard Air Force One that she plans to return to the Trump-aligned super PAC where she previously served as a spokesperson before joining the 2024 campaign. She did not specify her new title. MAGA Inc. did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Speaking briefly in the press cabin before takeoff, Leavitt said she would miss the job, adding that she loves her children more. She noted that her family will remain in Washington for the time being and told reporters they would continue to see her frequently.
Leavitt said Friday’s flight to South Carolina for a rally supporting Sen. Darline Graham would be her final trip as press secretary. She said she expects to be back on Air Force One for the Republican National Committee’s midterm convention scheduled for Sept. 9 and 10.
Leavitt, who became the youngest press secretary in history when she joined the second Trump administration, announced on Aug. 12 that she would leave the White House. Trump wrote on Truth Social that day that she was stepping down to spend more time with her children and family. He added that she would serve as one of his top outside advisers and a prominent voice within the Republican Party as the GOP aims to secure midterm victories.
In her own Aug. 12 post, Leavitt said she felt she could not be the best mother to her two young children while meeting the constant demands of the press secretary role. She gave birth to her second child in May and returned from maternity leave on July 16.
Leavitt previously worked as an assistant White House press secretary during Trump’s first term before becoming communications director for Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y. She later ran for Congress in New Hampshire, losing to Democratic Rep. Chris Pappas in 2022, and subsequently served as a spokesperson for MAGA Inc.
After joining Trump’s 2024 campaign, Leavitt gave birth to her first child and returned to work four days into her maternity leave following the assassination attempt against Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
As she departs after 18 months in the post, Leavitt becomes the second-longest-serving press secretary under Trump, after now-Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who held the role for nearly two years during Trump’s first term.
