Security personnel halted a trespasser at the Kamala Harris Malibu mansion after a woman reportedly entered the property without permission, according to officials.
A spokesperson for Harris said security stopped an individual who had illegally entered the property of the former vice president and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff before the person reached the residence. The spokesperson added that neither Harris nor Emhoff was at the home when the incident occurred and said the couple was grateful to security and law enforcement for their swift response.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the incident took place around 10:30 p.m. at the Malibu home. Local media also confirmed the timing. The woman agreed to leave and was not arrested, according to law enforcement accounts.
Patrols increased at Kamala Harris Malibu mansion
LASD Lieutenant Jason Duron said deputies are stepping up patrols around the property as a precaution.
Harris and Emhoff purchased the Malibu residence within the past year. The home is reportedly valued at more than 8 million dollars.
It is not the first time the couple has experienced unwanted visitors near their homes. In January 2025, two people were detained during curfew hours near Harris’s former residence in Brentwood after a report of a possible burglary.
The curfew had been imposed due to the Palisades and Eaton fires affecting the city at the time. Neither person was arrested, and authorities said there was no evidence of criminal activity.
Authorities in other regions have also imposed restrictions and curfews during major emergencies, including in Europe, where events such as the Dover anti-migrant protest disrupted travel and required a heightened security presence.
