The 2026 MLB playoff bracket tightened Wednesday as Milwaukee claimed NLCS Game 3, putting the Los Angeles Dodgers on the verge of elimination, and the ALCS remained level heading into Game 3 in Cleveland.
Milwaukee powered to a 6-2 victory in Game 3 behind three home runs off Blake Snell, including a first-pitch drive by Jackson Chourio followed by consecutive shots from Jake Bauers and Garrett Mitchell. The Dodgers’ offense again struggled, and the Brewers are now one win from the World Series while Los Angeles faces a must-win scenario.
In the American League, the Tampa Bay Rays evened the ALCS at 1-1 on Tuesday with a 3-1 win over the Cleveland Guardians. All three Tampa Bay runs came in the fourth inning after a two-out error by José Ramírez allowed the opening run to score.
Liam Hicks added a two-run single for a 3-0 cushion. Cleveland took Game 1 on Monday, rallying late against the Rays bullpen and holding Tampa Bay in check after the first inning.
The series shifts to Cleveland for Game 3 on Thursday at 1 p.m. Eastern, moved up from 6 p.m. because of weather. To reach this stage, the Dodgers eliminated the Braves and the Brewers ousted the Padres in the NLDS.
In the ALDS, the Rays swept the Yankees and the Guardians edged the White Sox in five. The Astros, Red Sox, Cubs and Phillies were previously knocked out in the best-of-three Wild Card Series.
